Kople runs one of the largest public EV charging networks in Norway. Established in 2021 as a spinoff from a local utility company, Kople builds and operates charging facilities with DC ultra-fast, DC fast, and AC chargers, and currently operates over 7000 public and private charging points. With a varied offering of EV charging solutions that includes CPO, CPO as a Service (CPOaaS), e-Mobility Service Provider (eMSP), and Fleet, Kople aims to create great charging experiences for both drivers and location owners alike.
Kople was looking for a new EV charging platform that would support the wide range of EV charging services they were offering and facilitate their expansion in Norway. With 25% of passenger vehicles in Norway being electric, Kople needed a platform that could provide the operational excellence and scalability needed to accelerate the growth of its charging network. “Our mission is to meet Norway’s growing need for user-friendly, high-quality EV charging with facilities that deliver our signature easy charging experience,” said Joar Brunes, CEO of Kople.
Following a competitive RFP process, Kople selected Driivz because of the platform’s technical maturity, industry-leading charger uptime and extensive network management and business operations capabilities. One of the many reasons Driivz was selected is its operations management module, which monitors charger status 24×7. Using self-healing algorithms, the module proactively resolves up to 80% of operational issues, which enables Kople to meet its objectives of service excellence with industry-leading levels of charger availability. Another reason for selecting Driivz was its robust EV billing capabilities that simplify financial complexity by providing automated reconciliation by business partners, hassle-free public charging for fleet drivers, and simple payment processing. Other reasons include support for multiple payment options plus built-in integrations for platform and OCPI-based roaming, which allow Kople to make EV charging easily available to everyone.
Driivz implemented a migration, during which over 7,000 sockets were moved to Driivz’s platform. With the integration complete, Kople’s network was running on a suite of Driivz platform modules including integrated software modules for EV charge point and network operations, EV charging billing, and for future use, smart energy management. The solution also includes driver self-service tools – a white-label mobile app offering real-time charger location and availability, charger reservations, support for multiple payment options and faster issue reporting. In addition, Kople will use the Driivz InSite™ module to provide management, reporting and driver support tools to its business customers. “Driivz technology will help us provide an even higher quality of service to EV drivers and our partners as we continue to scale our business and add new technology solutions as soon as they are ready for us to use,” said Brunes.
“We are delighted to partner with Kople in providing service excellence to Norway’s growing population of EV drivers and to support this innovative company’s expansion across Norway and the Nordics,” said Andrew Bennett, CEO of EVolve. “We share Kople’s passion for continuously improving the EV driver charging experience and furthering electrification to make the world a bit greener.”
